Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 7 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of SP (emulsifier)
- 170 ml of water or liquid milk
- 200 grams of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 3 tablespoons of cooking oil
- Buttercream for filling and coating
- Lunch box or rectangular tin
- Greased and lined oil paper
Instructions
To make a Korean cake, here is a simplified instruction:
- In the mixing bowl, combine the egg, sugar, SP, and water or liquid milk. Mix at medium speed (speed 6) until the mixture becomes white and fluffy.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix again until well blended.
- Gradually add the cooking oil while mixing briefly.
- Pour the batter into a rectangular tin or lunch box lined with greased and lined oil paper.
- Bake in the Smart Oven using the Bake menu at the appropriate temperature and time according to the recipe or until the cake is cooked through. Use a toothpick to test if it comes out clean.
- Once the cake is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Use a round mould to cut the cake into individual rounds. Set aside.
- Fill the cake rounds with jam or buttercream according to your taste.
- Coat the outside of the cake rounds with buttercream that has been coloured with the food colouring of your choice.
- You can store the cakes in the fridge before decorating.
- Decorate the cakes according to your preference.
- Your Korean cake is now ready to be enjoyed!
